The Nikkei News confirmed that Nintendo is indeed going into the movie business, and will have an animated film ready for 2006. Former NCL President Hiroshi Yamauchi first talked about this idea back in September, and suggested that he'd like to see a movie based on the Ogura Hyakunin Isshu poems. The Nikkei piece said that it's most likely that Nintendo's first movie will be based on one of it's hit franchises.
