Capcom is considering to release Resident Evil Outbreak in PAL areas without online support - which would leave the PAL gamer with just the offline part of the game.
The reason for this being, that there are apparently inconsistencies between Sony's European gaming network and the network in the US and Japan. This was recently admitted by Resident Evil Outbreak producer Tsuyoshi Tanaka. But, he added, "We're going to try as hard as we can to make sure online play makes it in the PAL release." With no online support, Outbreak may appear in PAL areas around May 2004. The Japanese and US versions, slated for November/December and March 2004 respectively, both will feature online support.
