Apple's iTunes Store now has games available for purchase and download that work with the third-generation iPod nano (with video), iPod classic and fifth-generation iPod (with video).
Three games have been released: Tetris, Ms. Pac-Man, and Sudoku.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs first indicated that the new iPods would be able to play games at Apple's "The Beat Goes On" special event held in San Francisco, and said that the games would be available in a few weeks.
While Tetris, Ms. Pac-Man and Sudoku have already been available for fifth-generation iPods, this marks the first time the games have been released to be compatible with 3G iPod nanos and new iPod classics.
So far, only these three games have been reworked with those devices. Users who have already downloaded these games for their fifth-generation iPods need to buy them again for the new iPod nano or iPod classic.
Other games remain available for purchase and download for fifth-generation iPods, including The Sims Bowling and The Sims Pool, Musika, and Bejeweled.
