Amongst yesterday's Take-Two financial report it was revealed that the New York-based publisher has acquired Indie Built, Microsoft's internal sports game development studio responsible for titles such as Links 2004, Amped and its sequel. The Utah-based development studio also oversaw the development of PAM's Top Spin.
Take-Two revealed yesterday it has acquired Indie Built in August, the same month Microsoft decided to close its Redmond sports game studio responsible for titles such as NFL Fever and NHL Rivals. At that time, a Microsoft spokeswoman said the studio in Utah was unaffected by the cuts. Now, we know that happened because Indie Built was being sold to Take Two.
The future of XSN Sports looks more uncertain than ever.
