Citing that the game goes "way too far," the South Korean government announced recently to the US military newspaper Stars and Stripes that they plan on banning Ubisoft's military tactical shooter Ghost Recon 2, thus nullifying any chance that the game will show up in that country under legitimate means.
For those not in the know, Ghost Recon 2 has players taking part in covert military operations in North Korea, and as a result, directly engaging and killing troops from that country's army.
Despite the controversey, Ubisoft is sticking by its guns. One representative summed it up best by stating, "When we developed the story background, we aimed at staying away from key current or specific events while still having a reasonable setting for a conflict."
