The first Tekken 5 arcade units will hit North America in October, according to Namco's latest operator solicitations.
Namco's latest announcement also includes the first details on its plans for a national Tekken 5 tournament. Individual arcades are invited to register their location with Namco and run local qualifiers until mid-January, in anticipation of the national tournament in February.
The American version of Tekken 5 will include the data card and character customization features from the Japanese version of the game, although it won't employ the same nationwide network for storing player statistics and ghost fighter data.
