Activision announced yesterday that they had shipped over 2 Million copies of Spider-Man 2 in North America. This accounts for the PS2, GC, and Xbox versions, along with the significantly different PC and GBA games. The game is available at game retailers nationwide and is rated "T" for Teen.
Spider-Man 2 the game was released simultaneously with the movie, and will no doubt be bolstered by the films success at the box office. Spider-Man 2 the movie raked in an impressive $40.4 million on opening day and $115.8 million over the holiday weekend. Spider-Man 2 the game is expected to sell huge numbers, in spite of the fact that the summer months are usually slow ones for the gaming industry.
Spider-Man 2 the game offers more free-form gameplay than any game previously featuring everyone's favorite web-head. Gamers can re-live the film's storyline or embark on exclusive game missions as they perform heroic deeds, protect citizens from random crimes, and face off against Doc Ock and other Marvel super-villains.
