NAMCO recently released GameCube RPG ‘Tales of Symphonia’ has done the job in Japan, claiming the No.1 spot and pushing GameCube sales past the Playstation2 for the first time in a very long while.
With sales of 176,600 units in its first week of release, the NAMCO title helped to push GameCube sales marginally ahead of the Playstation2, with sales of 35,600 units compared to 35,300 – ok it’s marginal at best and there’s been no big seller for the PS2, however it is slightly welcoming news for Nintendo fans.
After a strong first week of release, which netted the strongest sales of a third-party release, ‘Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicle’ has dropped like a rock in the Top 10 chart claiming 6th position with a moderate 17,170 units sold.
