You know how sometimes when you turn on a television in a hotel room and the first channel you see is always a "menu system" with a picture of Mario's face in the corner? It's all part of a sigNETure TV service that lets hotel guests order, play, and pay for Nintendo games by the minute. LodgeNET and Nintendo announced today that Gamecube software will soon be added to the roster in over 5,000 hotels. Since 1993 SNES games have been playable and the Nintendo 64 joined the ranks in 1998.
"Guests have demonstrated how much they love Nintendo games by purchasing more than a billion minutes of game time on LodgeNet systems," said Lodgenet Senior Vice-President Steven Truckenmiller. "We look forward to deploying Nintendo GameCube as the latest milestone in an exceptionally fruitful relationship with an entertainment innovator and valued strategic partner."
