SongPro and RioPort team up to bring MP3-playing capabilities to the Game Boy Color and the Game Boy Advance.
SongPro and RioPort have announced a partnership to deliver MP3s to the Game Boy Color and the Game Boy Advance. SongPro will be manufacturing a plug-in device that's capable of playing both Windows Media tracks and MP3s, while RioPort will be providing the Direct-to-Device software that enables users to download media directly into the device. The SongPro device will use the Media Activation System, so individual files can only be used for a certain period or played a limited number of times. "I am very proud of how the RioPort team and SongPro team are working together to create SongPro's compelling new service," said Anthony Schaller, chief technology officer of RioPort. "We think the SongPro business model is a great example of how digital content delivery can increase revenue possibilities for content holders and artists."
A release date for the SongPro device has yet to be announced.

Cool. I thought I had heard something about that but I wasn't sure if it was true.
