Just incase BMX XXX wasn’t enough for you, Groove Games and ARUSH Entertainment is teaming up with everybody’s favorite Playboy company to bring the first in a planned series of Playboy games for the Xbox, PS2, and PC early 2004. The game is said to be a corporation simulation, putting you in the shoes of Hugh Hefner as you build up the playboy empire. No news yet whether the game will contain nudity, but we do know that it will be rated Mature, so take from that what you will.
"We're delighted to work with ARUSH and Groove to develop this game and provide the Playboy audience with a new and exciting way to interact with our brand," said Alex Vaickus, Playboy’s President of Global Licensing. "This deal marks Playboy's entry into the video game category and is a significant breakthrough for us as we expand the licensing of our brand in the entertainment arena."
Are we going to have to start hiding our consoles under our mattresses now? This game marks the continuing trend of Mature, adult-aimed games to enter mainstream. Playboy’s market studies showed that their readers spend $300 million annually on video gaming, and over 3 million of their readers own a game system. Gamers are growing up, it seems, and they’re bringing their games with them.
