Despite Capcom's initial comments that Resident Evil 4 would be a GameCube only exclusive title, the company today officially announced that the game will release for the PS2.
Currently, Resident Evil 4 is slated to release for Sony's console at the end of 2005 in Japan, the US, and Europe. The GameCube version of the game is still on track to release in January of 2005. Capcom cited many factors behind the decision to release the game on the PS2, including worldwide fan requests, market considerations, and shareholder requests.
