Organizers for Germany's Leipzig GC Developers Conference said 1,250 industry workers attended the trade show, up from 940 in 2007. The GCDC is a networking and sharing event for the games industry, and included presentations from leaders at GRIN, Epic, K2 Network, Gas Powered Games, Crytek, Capcom and more. GCDC preceded the consumer-focused part of Leipzig GC, which began today. Organizers said 38,000 attendees gathered at the Leipziger Messe, topping 2007's opening which saw 35,000. Leipzig GC expects a total of 547 companies to participate through the end of the event on Sunday. www.edge-online.com/news/strong-start-leipzig-08
