Midway announced today that when their upcoming fighter Mortal Kombat: Deception ships to France, the game will get a bit of a name change.
The word "deception" translates to "disappointment" in French, a name that one could call less than desireable. France is the only European country that will see the name change.
"Mortal Kombat: Deception promises to take this revolutionary fighting franchise to a new level." said Matt Broughton, European Marketing Director, Midway. "With the introduction of online play, plus a host of new features including multiple fatalities per character, multi-tiered interactive backgrounds and extensive new game modes, Mortal Kombat: Deception will set a precedent for all other fighting games to follow."
