"To receive a free game, you must have access to a PC, access to the Internet, and go to www.xboxlive-friends.com/freegame. “Referees” must be new subscribers, purchase a 12-month subscription to Xbox Live, activate the subscription, and submit the online registration information on www.xboxlive-friends.com/freegame on or before July 29, 2004. To get more information on how to obtain your 12-month subscription, either visit your local retailer and/or go to www.xbox.com/en-US/live/connect/starterkits.htm. You must submit both “Referrer” and the “Referee” e-mail addresses, the “Referee” new gamertag, and the promotion code (you’ll find this in the forwarded e-mail).
