Tecmo announced today that their "Master Tournament" for the recent Xbox release Ninja Gaiden will get underway on May 3rd. Beginning on that day, players can begin registering for the event, with the actual tournament slated to begin on May 12th.
The first round of the tournament will have players downloading a special Xbox Live key and then beating the game on the default difficulty. The players with the highest Karma ratings will then move onto regional playoffs. The second and third rounds will be a bit more varied, with Tecmo providing special downloadable challenge levels. Also, those who may not have made the cut in the first round will also get the chance to take part in the second and third rounds for a chance to also get to the regional playoffs.
Currently, all that's known about what the winners of regional playoffs will garner is an "international final" that will take place in a yet-to-be-named European location.
